With the 2023 Ford Escape, on the other hand, you have four very different engines to choose from, and they all deliver an impressive amount of power to make the Escape fun to drive. Best of all, not only can you choose from two impressive turbocharged gas engines with solid power packed into them, but you also have two different hybrid powertrains available.
For starters, you can choose from two different EcoBoost engines that both provide an impressive amount of power while letting you pick the kind of performance you want. The starting engine on the Escape is a 1.5L EcoBoost I-3 that delivers 180 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, which is a great choice for a compact model like this. If you want more power packed into your crossover, there is an available 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine that delivers a solid 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. You can see that this option is much more powerful than the standard engine, and it allows for greater capability. The standard engine lets the Escape tow up to 2,000 lbs, while the more-powerful EcoBoost engine increases that to 3,500 lbs.
If you are interested in superior fuel economy rather than raw power, you have two different hybrid engines to choose from. The first is a standard 2.5L I-4 Hybrid that delivers 192 hp; there is also an available 2.5L I-4 Plug-In Hybrid that offers 210 hp for a bit of boosted performance. The advantage of the plug-in hybrid is that it will allow you to travel for an estimated 37 miles on electricity alone. The basic hybrid powertrain is available in the ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum trims, but the plug-in hybrid is only found in its own unique trim.

The Platinum also has heated front seats, including a 10-way power driver’s seat and six-way power front-passenger seat. Finally, it features a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a gorgeous 13.2-inch infotainment display, and an available 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with a subwoofer to transform your daily drive into a technological and acoustic marvel.
