  • Overview

A grey 2023 Ford Edge ST is angled left.

If you’re looking for an SUV that delivers a smooth and comfortable ride, a spacious and cozy interior, and plenty of style, inside and out, then consider the 2023 Ford Edge. This midsize crossover has plenty to love, and while it may feel highly luxurious, it’s also available at a reasonable price, so you don’t need to break the bank to get behind the wheel of a quality vehicle. There are plenty of trim levels to choose from, so you can find an option that’s just right for you.

The base SE trim doesn’t break out all the bells and whistles, but it still has plenty of great standard features, from driver assistance tech to dual-zone automatic climate control. Upgrade to the SEL for an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a classy leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats that can keep you nice and toasty on a cold winter’s day. The ST-Line model is extra sporty, with bold styling and athletic performance. With a Titanium Edge, you’ll get even more comfort features and an exclusive grille design featuring shiny chrome bars. At the top of the pack, the ST trim has a more powerful engine, an eye-catching interior with silver stitching and embossed ST logos, and exclusive exterior badging that lets the world know what you’re driving.

Here at DePaula Ford, we’re proud to offer our customers this quality SUV, along with the other great models made by Ford. We have plenty of models in our inventory that you can take a look at or even take for a spin with a test drive. If we don’t have the exact right trim, color, or feature for you, then we can help you custom order an Edge from the factory. Basically, we’re willing to go the extra mile for you and make sure you end up 100% satisfied with your purchase, not just today but for many miles to come.

Two Engines So You Can Choose How Much Power You Need

The Edge is available with two capable engines, both of which deliver plenty of power for a great driving experience. The base option is a 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking for a little extra oomph, you can opt for the ST trim, which comes standard with a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 that brings 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque to the table.

A more powerful engine isn’t the only performance upgrade that the Edge ST has to offer. With the ST Performance Brake Package, you can get front and rear-vented disc brakes that are extra responsive. A radiator cooling fan and vented brake shields work to provide an ideal temperature at all times, so you can always get peak performance. This package also includes an upgrade to summer tires that provide extra grip for optimal cornering. If you like sporty driving, you can also get the available paddle shifters, which let you manually switch between gears.

If you can’t afford to upgrade to ST, don’t worry. There are plenty of great performance features that come standard across the lineup:

    • Intelligent All-Wheel Drive - Balances torque as needed between the front and rear wheels, working to consistently enhance handling and provide maximum traction in a wide variety of situations.
    • AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and Curve Control - Works to automatically improve vehicle handling on a variety of surfaces, including wet pavement, snow and ice, and loose gravel.
    • Electric Power-Assisted Steering - Gives you extra control behind the wheel, which can come in handy when roads have lots of twists and turns.
    • Traction Control - Uses high-tech sensors to sense when one wheel is spinning more rapidly than the others. If that happens, the system kicks in and hits the brakes just for that wheel, which helps to decrease wheel slip.
    • Hill Start Assist - Can detect when you’re on an incline and will automatically hold the brakes, even if you aren’t manually hitting the brake pedal, which prevents you from rolling backward. This shuts off automatically once you hit the gas.
  • Safety

A Full Suite of Driver Assist Features

Safety comes standard on the Ford Edge since the advanced Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance technology is included on all trim levels, down to the base SE. These features work to help you stay attentive and alert on the road so that you can drive with confidence. Thanks to this and other safety measures on the Edge, including its crash-tested design, the model was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a respected nonprofit organization that works to improve on-road safety by evaluating vehicles and educating drivers.

Here are the driver-assistance features included in Ford Co-Pilot360:

    • Pre-Collision Assist - Uses advanced sensors to scan the road in front of you and detect any other vehicles or pedestrians that are in your path. If the system senses that you’re about to collide with a person or vehicle in front of you, it can automatically hit the brakes or supplement your manual braking in order to prevent impact.
    • Lane-Keeping System - Helps keep you in your lane while driving on the highway, using both steering wheel vibrations and applied steering torque to prevent you from drifting unintentionally.
    • Auto High-Beam Headlamps - Make it easy for you to see clearly on dark roads without distracting or dazing drivers around you by blinding them with your brights. A camera mounted on the windshield detects the light conditions around you and automatically switches them on when you need them and off when another vehicle is too close.
    • Blind Spot Information System - Lets you know when other vehicles are in your blind spot, so you can stay informed while changing lanes.
    • Cross-Traffic Alert - Comes in handy when you’re backing out from a parking space by giving you an alert if traffic is approaching from one side or the other.
    • Adaptive Cruise Control - Can detect if the traffic in front of you is slowing down or coming to a stop. Instead of always sticking with a consistent speed, the system will make sure to keep a certain following distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, slowing or stopping as needed and getting back to the set speed when it’s safe to do so.
    • Rear View Camera - Lets you see clearly behind the vehicle while backing up. Side and center guidelines make it easy to line up with a parking space.

    Padded With Comfort and Convenience

Step inside the Ford Edge, and you’ll find a cabin that’s designed to keep you comfortable and entertained all drive long, whether you’re running errands around town or taking a longer road trip. You don’t need to upgrade to a higher trim level to get the best infotainment system available. Every 2023 model comes standard with a large, user-friendly 12-inch touchscreen that makes it easy to see all of the information you need at a glance, so you can get your eyes back on the road right away. It’s also big enough to display multiple types of information at once, including navigation directions, music, vehicle system alerts, and more.

The Edge’s rotary gear shift dial is more compact than a traditional gear shift, leaving more room for cup holders, center console storage, and USB ports so that everything you need is within easy reach from the driver’s seat. But you don’t need those USB ports to hook your smartphone up to the SUV’s infotainment system because the Edge comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you really want to leave cables and the tangled mess they can create behind, you can opt for the available wireless charging pad too.

Ford’s latest infotainment system, SYNC 4A, is up-to-date with a variety of helpful touches that bring your experience to the next level. Voice recognition allows you to control all kinds of features without ever taking your eyes off the road. With the available Alexa Built-In, you’ll have a full-fledged digital assistant at your command that can not only control features in the vehicle but also any smart devices you may have waiting for you back home. Over-the-air software updates allow your system to continually improve as Ford comes out with new software features and improvements. You don’t have to go into a dealership to upgrade your system either, as your Edge will seamlessly receive them over an Internet connection.
