Did you know that Ford has an electric Mustang? The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the latest electric model and comes with a new trim inspired by the world of rally racing. While the Mach-E has only been on the market since 2021, it has already won over plenty of Ford fans due to its range, speed, and style. If you’ve never had the opportunity to take a look at it, it’s time to check out the Mustang Mach-E and see how it maintains the spirit of its louder, more raucous gasoline-powered sibling while being an efficient and comfortable ride.

The Mustang Mach-E is still a pony car, though it can also serve as a family vehicle. You may want to try the new Rally Edition for off-road exploration or take a turn on the racetrack in the GT Performance Upgrade to put the Mach-E through its paces. It regularly surprises Ford drivers who expect it to be slow and underpowered because the Mach-E can reach 60 mph in under four seconds––3.3 seconds to be exact. You don’t have to feel like your electric car is choking on everyone else’s dust. With the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, you’ll be throwing dust in front of nearly every other driver on the road.

  • Powertrain

    Pony Car Performance

The 2024 Mustang Mach-E can be outfitted with several different powertrains. If you elect to go with rear-wheel drive, you’ll have a single motor, but if you go with all-wheel drive, you’ll have a motor attached to each of the Mach-E’s axles. Either option will give you a smooth, quiet ride, so you may want to consider the area you’ll be driving in to help determine how much horsepower and torque you need in order for the Mach-E to function at its best. Whether you’re off-roading on dirt and gravel or navigating slick city streets, the Mach-E is prepared for nearly any event.

The standard battery pack for the Mach-E is 72 kWh, and the extended-range battery pack is 91 kWh. The estimated range of the 2024 Mustang Mach-E is an impressive 320 miles. In the top Rally Edition, you'll be able to enjoy an estimated 480 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque. In contrast, the base rear-wheel drive configuration provides 264 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque. No matter which trim level and powertrain you go with, the Mach-E is powerful enough to handle your daily commute, errand runs, off-road explorations, and more.

Ford’s batteries all come with fast-charging capability as well as a mobile charging unit. This Ford Mobile Power Cord can fully charge a Mustang Mach-E in as little as 14 hours with a standard 240V power outlet, while a hard-wired Level 2 Ford Connected Charge Station can shave three hours off that time. While these options make it convenient to charge your vehicle overnight, they are too slow for use while traveling long distances. Fortunately, Level 3 DC Fast Charging is available to get you back on the road in a matter of minutes.

    Colors and Trims

The Mustang Mach-E is available in a wide range of colors, ranging from subtle shades to eye-catching hues. New for 2024 are a number of dazzling new options, including Grabber Yellow and Eruption Green. Depending on trim level, you may also get a variety of accents, like specific badging, trim, and grille details. You can pair your chosen color with your favorite wheel and tire combination for a highly sophisticated look, or try something new and go wild with rally stripes.

The 2024 Mach-E comes in several different trim levels, with the high-octane GT Performance Upgrade and all-new Rally Edition topping the lineup. Some of the available trims emphasize efficiency and affordability, while others are focused on performance or luxury. Every version of this model, however, retains the pony car look and badging, though, of course, the color of the badging might change between trim levels. Whatever trim level you choose, you’ll be getting a sleek, powerful vehicle capable of exceeding your wildest expectations.

Ford’s Mach-E Rally Edition is a unique new offering, with the ability to race or go off-road at a moment’s notice. New rally-style 19-inch alloy wheels are more rugged, while the front fascia contains inset fog lights to provide better visibility in all conditions. There is even underbody armor to protect against debris, and a recovery point is built into the front bumper. Rounding things off, a large front splitter and rear wing are designed to enhance the vehicle's aerodynamics.

    Interior and Exterior Features

Depending on which trim level you end up driving, you’ll see a number of impressive features. Every 2024 Mustang Mach-E comes with full LED lighting, including traditional Mustang-style three-bar taillights with sequential turn signals. Unique to the Mach-E is an available Panoramic Fixed-Glass roof that makes it feel just as spacious as the Mustang convertible. The Mach-E also comes with a drainable frunk (front trunk) that provides an extra 4.7 cu.ft. of lockable cargo space.

All Mach-E trims come with carpeted floor mats in front and back, as well as plenty of cup holders for both rows of seats. There are even cargo tie-downs, should you need them. Ambient multi-color lighting is featured on upper trim levels, but they all come with auto-dimming rearview mirrors. A memory driver’s seat and side view power-folding mirrors are also available for the Mach-E. A soft vinyl-wrapped steering wheel is the primary focus of the driver’s seat area, with the secondary focus going to the Rotary Gear Shift Dial. An available heated steering wheel will help keep your hands warm in cold weather.

There are multiple places to store your phone, charging cords, earbuds, tablets, snacks, and other necessities, including a special cubby under the center armrest made possible by the lack of a traditional transmission tunnel. You’ve got plenty of room for yourself, passengers, any pets that might want to come along, and everyone’s gear and equipment. Upper trim levels also come equipped with a cargo area cover for when you’re shopping or have left your car in a public parking lot for the day.

    Safety and Infotainment Options

Along with all the exterior and interior features of the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, it also comes with a plethora of safety and driver assist features, including a 90-day trial of the exciting Ford BlueCruise 1.2 hands-free driving feature. Every Mach-E comes with a universal garage door opener and 4-Door Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start. The available Ford CoPilot360 Assist 2.0 suite offers Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering Assist, Speed Sign Recognition, Evasive Steering Assist, and several more features to make driving not only easier but safer.

It will come as no surprise that the Mustang Mach-E is filled to the brim with tech, from the standard 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster to the also-standard 15.5-inch center touchscreen with SYNC 4A. The Built-In Navigation system allows drivers to use the EV Trip Planner, Route Guidance, Predictive Destination, and Live Traffic updates. These are incredibly helpful precisely because the Mach-E is an electric vehicle. You’ll never have to worry that you won’t make it to the next charging station with the EV Trip Planner, and with Live Traffic updates, you’ll know which areas to avoid in order to ensure you won’t run out of power during rush hour.

You can look forward to your commute every day with the Mustang Mach-E’s standard six-speaker sound system, or you can really enhance your daily drive with the optional B&O sound system that comes with ten speakers and a subwoofer. You’ll also have access to SiriusXM 360L, so you can catch up on all your favorite podcasts, listen to an audiobook, or jam to your favorite music with the premium audio system. In fact, you may enjoy it so much that you won’t ever want to leave the car.
