For over 40 years, the Ford F-150 has been America's favorite truck and the cornerstone of the best-selling F-Series. Some companies would take that level of success and simply ride on it, coasting on the goodwill of generations of customers rather than trying to maintain the highest level of quality. Fortunately for truck fans everywhere, Ford is not such a company; instead, it continues to innovate and push the envelope regarding the kind of power and capabilities a full-size truck can deliver. The result is that the 2025 Ford F-150 continues to be every bit the legendary pickup we expect from this model and it offers remarkable muscle, tremendous towing, and great features inside and out.

At the heart of the F-150 is a selection of engines that are inarguably among the best in the modern auto industry—honestly, some of the best we have ever seen. The starting powertrain is a 2.7L turbocharged V6 with 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, which perfectly sets the stage for the kind of performance and power that follows. Having this much muscle for the starting point says it all in terms of what Ford delivers with this iconic truck. Once you are looking at something like the available 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine with its 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque, it is easy to see why so many people have made the F-150 their pickup of choice.

All of that bold performance is paired with remarkable engineering that allows the 2025 Ford F-150 to handle a tremendous amount of work and tackle anything you need. With more than 2,400 lbs of payload available and up to 13,500 lbs of maximum towing, the F-150 is the perfect truck for taking care of everything you need throughout the week. Along with all of this impressive power and bold capabilities, the 2025 model also has some of the most remarkable technology and features designed to enhance everything you need to do. There is a gorgeous 12-inch infotainment display inside, paired with another large screen for you as the driver, plus incredible features like the Ford Pro Power Onboard system, Pro Access Tailgate, and much more for you to enjoy day after day.

    The Standard 2.7L V6 Engine

There are many things that make Ford trucks so remarkable: enhanced engineering for the frame and body, gorgeous designs that turn heads wherever they go, and innovative features inside to enhance your daily drive. But even beyond all of these other things, the powerful and sophisticated engines that Ford puts into their trucks define the kind of remarkable experience you have on the road. The 2025 F-150 is the perfect example of this, particularly with its starting 2.7L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 engine that provides 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Having this as the standard engine showcases the kind of power Ford can pack into their vehicles, ensuring you have a great time on the road each day.

    Other Available Engines

Every engine for the F-150 comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that ensures this truck is incredibly fun to drive thanks to smooth, responsive performance. If you are looking for enhanced power in your truck, then you have a number of available upgrades for the F-150, like a 5.0L V8 engine that delivers 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. This is the only V8 engine available, outside the supercharged monster that is exclusive to the Raptor R model, and it highlights how well Ford builds their engines. For greater performance, there is also a 3.5L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 engine available that provides 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.

One of our favorite options is a High Output version of that 3.5L V6 that boosts those numbers up to 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque; this engine comes standard on the off-road-ready and performance-focused Raptor model. The final option that a lot of our customers ask about is the remarkable 3.5L PowerBoost turbocharged V6 hybrid engine, which provides the F-150 with 430 hp and an incredible 570 lb-ft of torque. This hybrid is a thing of beauty that gives you robust power and performance that is remarkably efficient for a full-size truck, letting you stay on the road longer and take care of everything you need.

  • Payload and Towing

Getting the most from your truck can mean different things to different people. Pickups have become daily drivers for many folks these days, so you probably want something that is comfortable and outfitted with the latest convenience features to enhance your time on the road. At the end of the day, however, many of us still want a great truck like the Ford F-150 for the kind of work it can do that no other type of vehicle can handle. By which, of course, we mean loading up with a bunch of weight or hauling a trailer, boat, or camper behind you. Ford understands this and the robust capabilities of the F-150 showcase that perfectly.

    Payload Capacities

With payload and tow ratings, it is important to remember that numerous factors impact the kind of capability your truck offers. Naturally, the engine is a big part of that, but anything else that affects your truck's overall weight and engineering can also alter its various weight ratings. With that in mind, the 2025 Ford F-150 is still a terrific choice and just looking at its standard engine, you get more than 1,700 lbs of maximum payload from it. The available hybrid engine can also handle more than 1,700 lbs of payload, while the turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine comes out on top with 2,445 lbs of maximum payload capacity.

    Towing Capabilities

Towing is quite similar for the F-150, with excellent capabilities across the board, though some engines allow for more than others. The standard 2.7L V6 engine can handle more than 8,000 lbs of towing, giving you plenty of muscle for a wide range of tasks. If you like the power and efficiency of the available hybrid engine, then you can choose it and still get more than 11,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity. For the ultimate towing experience, however, the available 3.5L V6 is once again the winner with up to 13,500 lbs of max trailering when properly equipped and configured. This is perfect for taking everything you need, whether hauling lumber to a job site, taking your boat to the lake, or tackling a weekend project at home.

  • Innovative Features

Standard 12-Inch Touchscreen and Safety Features

When looking for your next truck, it is important to consider a wide range of things, including how well it can enhance your daily drive and let you take care of everything you need. Looking at the 2025 Ford F-150, its standard and available features are far removed from the limited or stripped-down options we used to see on trucks decades ago. For example, even the starting XL version of the F-150 comes with a 12-inch Digital Productivity Screen for you as the driver, along with a second 12-inch infotainment display that looks stunning. These screens can make your life much easier, allowing you to keep track of important data, view navigation information at a glance while driving, and easily hook up to a trailer when towing. Other tech features like cruise control, advanced safety systems like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and air conditioning are also all standard.

    Available Features

As you would expect, higher trim levels give you much more to enjoy in your truck, with features like a heads-up display, wireless charging pad, and a B&O Unleashed premium sound system included in models like the F-150 Platinum. You can also get terrific features on the outside of this truck to enhance what you can do with it, like the Pro Power Onboard system that gives you numerous power outlets in the bed of the F-150 for charging and powering external devices and equipment. One of our favorite options is the Pro Access Tailgate, which opens down like a standard tailgate but includes an integrated swing gate for easy access to items in the truck bed, even when towing. No matter what you need your truck to be able to do, the Ford F-150 is ready to deliver.
