    Electric Power Doesn't Hurt Performance

The Ford F-150 Lightning is not only a great truck but also at the head of the pack when it comes to electric trucks. One of the drawbacks of traditional trucks was the cost of fuel, but with the Lightning, that worry is a thing of the past. The Lightning comes standard with two electric motors plus a battery; combined, this delivers 452 hp, 775 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 lbs. If you’re looking for increased power, level up to the 131-kWh battery to unlock all 580 horses. If heavy towing/hauling is often on your to-do list, going up from the Pro edition to the XLT or Lariat will take your towing from 7,700 lbs up to 10,000 lbs with the extended range powertrain.

Going up in trim levels not only increases the Lighting’s towing abilities but also increases its mileage. While the 98 kWh standard range motor offers an exceptional 240-mile EPA-estimated range, the 131 kWH extended range setup will go up to 320 miles on a full charge.

This Truck Requires Charging Rather Than Gas-Station Stops

If you’re nervous about going electric because of charging, you can be assured the F-150 Lightning won’t leave you stranded and will always be ready when you are. At-home charging means freedom from gas prices that are constantly in flux. Whether you’re on the road or at home, you can charge your truck wherever your day takes you.

The at-home Ford Charge Station Pro is available for the Ford F-150 Lightning. This station takes convenience to a whole new level, letting you charge your truck from the comfort of your own home. The station hangs on the wall out of the way and uses a mere 80 amps to charge your truck. The Ford Charge Station Pro can take your battery from 15% to 100% in as little as eight hours for the extended-range battery (ten hours for the standard-range). One hour of charging the extended-range battery equals 30 miles (19 miles for the standard-range), so you’re not waiting around when you need to go. The rugged weatherproof case keeps the station safe from damage and can be installed inside or out, while the 25-ft cable makes it easy to plug into your vehicle even if you happen to be parked at a distance.

The Charge Station Pro doesn’t stop at just boosting your battery; combine it with the Home Integration System to connect with its Intelligent Backup Power that can make use of your truck’s power to keep your home lit and your fridge cold during a black-out. Easily manage your Charge Station Pro with Ford’s convenient FordPass App, which lets you manage and share information with just a swipe of a button.

What if you need a charge when you’re on the road? Ford has you covered with its 240v mobile power chord. This is available for all Ford F-150 Lightning models and makes charging your truck while you’re traveling easy and stress-free. The 240v connector takes your battery from 15% to 100% in nineteen hours (thirteen for the standard-range). If you’re away from home and a public charging station isn’t nearby, the 240v connector is ready to give your battery the boost it needs.

However, if you’re worried about being out on the road and not being able to find a charging station, you shouldn’t be. Thanks to The BlueOval Charge Network, drivers get access to over 75,000 chargers across North America. Ford makes it easy to plan your route and locate available charging stations along the way, making going electric easier than ever before.

User-friendly tech and easy-to-navigate touchscreens make using the truck’s technology feel like second nature. The truck’s cloud-based technology makes it simple to receive updates, download software, and stay connected without headache.

This technology starts with the impressive available SYNC 4A system that comes with an easy-to-use 15.5-inch touchscreen that is standard when you level up to the Lariat and Platinum trim levels. Cloud-based tech and voice recognition are here to make staying connected easier than ever. Drivers can seamlessly link their compatible smartphones to access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to receive custom navigation and driving directions, access favorite apps and playlists, plus go hands-free for a safer, unforgettable driving experience.

Did we mention Connected Built-In Navigation? With the Lightning, you get up to 3 years of service. That means up-to-date and personalized information concerning road conditions, traffic conditions, weather, and more! TomTom keeps you informed of traffic light conditions, while Accuweather keeps you updated on changing weather patterns so you’re ready before the next storm blows in.

Don’t have your key on you? No problem. With the Lightning you can use the traditional keyfob or use your phone. Access, start your engine, and even drive your truck when you have the Phone As a Key feature. The system allows drivers to create up to four different profiles and allows access to things like putting windows up and down, locking and unlocking, and starting or stopping.

Something we love about the Lightning? Automatic, hassle-free updates! Thanks to cloud-based technology, it's quick and easy to keep your truck’s software up to date with the latest and greatest that Ford has to offer. The Lighting’s system downloads the latest software to keep your system on track and up to date.

Built-In Driver-Assist Systems Help You Stay Safer on the Road

Ford’s advanced technology doesn’t stop at the touchscreen. This system includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, plus parking assistance, and the Phone As a Key system.

What about trailering? What Ford truck would be complete without BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage? This system gives drivers an extra set of eyes and added safety by notifying them when a vehicle is riding in their truck’s or their trailer’s blind spot. Top this off with Pro Trailer Backup Assist to help take some of the challenges out of backing up your trailer. Ford Co-Pilot360 has drivers covered in more ways than one. From Hill Descent Control to Automatic Emergency braking, when you drive with Ford, you never drive alone.
