If you are in the market for an off-roading transport that can conquer all sorts of terrain, then the new 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak is the ride for you. Loaded with the latest adventure technology and off-roading equipment, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something you don’t love about it. As your local NY Ford Bronco dealer, we are excited about the release of the new Ford Bronco, and as adventurers at heart, we are especially enthralled by the Wildtrak.

The Wildtrak Body

As a two-door model, this SUV is true to the legacy of sport utility vehicles. It has available seating for up to four people, which is perfect if you like heading out into the wild with your friends. Behind the second row of seating is approximately 22.4 cubic feet of space with the hardtop to put luggage or gear. If you don’t need the rear seats, you can fold them down to reveal up to 52.3 cubic feet of maximum cargo area. That’s plenty of space if you prefer to bring your four-legged companions along for the journey.

There is a four-door option if you prefer. This one has five seats with 35.6 cubic feet of room in the back with the hardtop option, or 38.3 cubic feet with the soft top. If you fold the back seats down, you can access the maximum cargo area, which measures 77.6 (hardtop) or 83.0 (soft top) cubic feet. Also, keep in mind that the 2021 Ford Bronco was designed to compete directly against the Jeep Wrangler. That means the doors and top are removable too!

Power Your Adventure

With two powertrains to choose from, you can find the one that is best suited to your daily driving needs. First is the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine. Coupled with 4WD and your choice of either a 7-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission, it generates 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Not bad for an adventure machine. However, if you need more power, you can opt for the larger 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 310 hp and an astounding 400 lb-ft of torque. Also paired with a 4WD drivetrain, it can only be fitted with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Towing Capacity

Surprisingly, the body style and engine don’t have much effect on the amount of weight the 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak can pull. What does make a difference is the hitch. When equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, the new Bronco can haul up to 3,500 pounds. This is the case for all body styles and powertrains. If you want to pull a boat or trailer, you can do it easily with this package.

Off-Roading Capabilities: The Sasquatch Package

It wouldn’t be an off-road trim if it didn’t have some pretty impressive off-road capabilities. While a beast on the trail on its own, the Bronco Wildtrak can be upgraded for even better capability with the Sasquatch Package. This package includes 35-inch tires with 17-inch Beadlock Capable wheels, Bilstein shocks, front and rear locking differentials, and high-clearance suspension and fender flares.

When fitted with the 35-inch tires, the two and four-door body styles have very close capabilities while off-roading. Both body styles have an approach angle of 43.2 degrees. The departure angle of the two-door model is 37.2 degrees, while the four-door model is slightly less with 37.0 degrees. However, the breakover angle is where you’ll see the biggest difference. The two-door model has a breakover angle of 29.0 degrees, and the four-door model has one of 26.3 degrees. The ground clearance is roughly the same at 11.6 (two-door) and 11.5 (four-door) inches. Meanwhile, both models can ford water up to 33.5 inches.

What do all of these numbers mean? They mean that you can traverse over rough terrain and jagged rocks without worrying about flipping or getting stuck. They also mean that you can cross bodies of water without a bridge up to a certain depth. In other words, they mean freedom! Along with the innovative Terrain Management System with 7 G.O.A.T Modes, you can go just about anywhere you want.

Exterior Features

While the technical engine aspects and off-road specs provide a lot of freedom, so too does the design of the Bronco Wildtrak. The roof and doors are removable, and the flip-up rear glass makes it easy to put things in the back. The manual swing-gate will swing open up to 150-degrees, and the bash plates have been added to the underside to prevent damage from rocks. Two tow hooks are located in the front, and there is another on the back. The side mirrors are heated, manual-folding, and painted black.

Body-colored door handles give it a more uniformed look, and Wildtrak hood graphics add a bit of flavor. The grille can be done in Carbonized Gray or Black, and both options come with white “BRONCO” lettering. Finally, the lighting has you wanting for nothing. Daytime running lamps, LED signature lighting, and LED fog lamps to ensure that you will always have optimized visibility. Cruise through nature (or just drive through your commute) in rugged style.

Entertainment Features

The 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak comes standard with the SYNC 4 infotainment system. Displayed on a standard 8-inch LCK touchscreen with swipe capability and enhanced voice recognition, this interface works with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. FordPass Connect is also included as well as SiriusXM with 360L. The standard stereo has six speakers. Keep in mind that you can opt for a navigation system, a B&O premium stereo that has 10 speakers and a subwoofer, and upgrade the infotainment screen to 12-inches.

Driver Assist Features

Just because the Wildtrak is the rugged trim doesn’t mean it skimps out on the standard driver assistance and safety features. Intelligent Access with push-button start technology makes it easy to get going in the new 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak. You can start the vehicle before you head outside to get it warmed up and ready to go.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking helps to prevent frontal crashes. It will bring the vehicle to a complete stop if an impending accident is detected. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert lets you know when an object is behind you or hiding in your blind spot. This helps to prevent rear-end collisions and side-swiping accidents.

The auto-dimming rearview mirror works to lessen the glare from other vehicles’ headlights at night. Finally, the lane-keeping system ensures that you are traveling within the lines of your designated lane. If you begin to drift, it will gently guide the Bronco back to the center of the lane. All of these standard systems work together to keep you safe and in control no matter where you travel.

Comfort Features

Just because you’re exploring the wilderness doesn’t mean you should be uncomfortable. The Wildtrak’s front bucket seats are heated, and cloth upholstery covers the cabin. Meanwhile, the carpeted floors are protected by mat for the first and second row. There are six cup holders located throughout the cabin, and the sun visors come with illuminated vanity mirrors for your convenience. Storages compartments include the overhead console, front center floor console, glovebox, media bin, and sunglasses compartment so that you can stow all your essentials and keep them in your car even when the doors and roof are off. Finally, the manual tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel is wrapped in leather and features integrated cruise and audio controls.
