New Sporty Trims
The 2023 Ford Escape is available in seven all-new trims, which include basic, performance, luxury, and hybrid options. Each trim is designed to appeal to a certain kind of shopper, depending on the budget and features you want. The entry-level trim for the 2023 Escape is the Base, which gives you all of the basics you need right out of the gate when it comes to features and drivability. Next on the list is the Active trim, featuring more comfort and convenience features for the exterior and interior. After that, there is the ST-Line, which has a sporty appeal with distinct exterior and interior styling.
The ST-Line Select is next on the list, and it comes equipped with additional comfort and convenience features, along with access to a more powerful turbocharged engine. If you want the sporty performance of the ST-Line Select but with a few more tech advancements and performance enhancements, there is the ST-Line Elite. This specific trim features additional infotainment features and driver-assist technologies.
For the ultimate luxury edition of the 2023 Escape, there is the Platinum trim, which features a large infotainment suite, leather seating, and powerful performance. Finally, there is the Escape Plug-In Hybrid, which comes standard with built-in navigation, the latest infotainment, and the ability to charge the Escape at a charging station thanks to its unique powertrain. Most of the seven trims are also available with a variety of optional packages, including technology packages and trailering packages for improved towing and interior tech features.

Refreshed Appearance
The 2023 model year marks a major redesign for the popular Ford Escape. This includes an all-new front fascia featuring a more mature profile, sleek new LED signature lighting, indented fog lamps, and an aggressive-looking front grille with the Blue Oval logo in the center. The new bumper design fits into the more performance-oriented design language that the 2023 Escape embodies, making it look much more modern compared to previous model years.
The curved lines run from the A-pillar to the C-pillar, complimenting the arching roofline and black roof-rack side rails. The base trim comes with a manual liftgate, but the Active trim and above offer a power liftgate that makes loading and unloading easy. If you want more exterior features from the Escape, the ST-Line features a large rear wing spoiler, dual chrome exhaust tips, and a skid plate.
Inside, the Escape seats up to five people across two rows, offering two captain chairs up front and a split-folding bench in the rear. For the Base trim, you have manual climate control, but for the Active and higher, you have dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control to make things more comfortable for passengers up front and in the rear. On the Base and Active, you have cloth bucket seats, but the Active adds an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The further up the line you go, the more seating options you get. Some of these options include an available 10-way power driver seat on the Active, while there are sports seats with red stitching on the ST-Line, ST-Line Select, and ST-Line Elite. For the Platinum, you have access to quilted leather upholstery for the seats, providing maximum comfort and luxury appeal. The trims above the Base are also available with an optional Panoramic Vista Roof, remote start system, and rear privacy glass.
Hybrid Capabilities
Finding the right 2023 Ford Escape at our Albany Escape dealership is easy once you know what kind of features and performance you want out of the compact SUV. For 2023, you have four different powertrain choices: two turbocharged EcoBoost engines and two hybrids. The base engine is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost that makes 180 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. This engine is capable of towing up to 2,000 lbs, making it a good option for those who want a good balance of fuel economy and capability for daily driving.
The more powerful turbocharged option is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost that produces 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter manages 3,500 lbs worth of towing, making it the preferred choice for those who want a little more gusto from their compact SUV. The Base, Active, and ST-Line trims are equipped with the 1.5-liter EcoBoost, while the ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum come standard with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost.
The third powertrain is a 2.5-liter hybrid that is available on the ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum. This engine makes 192 hp and can tow up to 1,500 lbs, but what it lacks in power, it makes up for in fuel economy. The final option is exclusive to the Escape Plug-In Hybrid and is a 2.5-liter hybrid with a larger battery pack and more powerful electric motors. You can easily charge the Escape Plug-In Hybrid at Level 1 or Level 2 charging stations, allowing it to travel an estimated 37 miles without burning any gasoline.
New Technology
The 2023 Ford Escape is outfitted with a suite of tech-rich features, whether you opt for the Base trim, the Platinum, or the Plug-In Hybrid. Every trim comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technology. This includes Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a suite of other pre-collision sensors and safety systems. Additional driver-assist features can be added, including Active Park Assist 2.0 to automatically parallel and perpendicular park.
Every 2023 Escape also has access to the latest Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system, which includes over-the-air updates and comes standard with an LCD capacitive touchscreen. The Base trim features an eight-inch touchscreen, but the higher trims offer a 13.2-inch touchscreen with available built-in navigation. All seven trims pair the central infotainment screen with a second eight-inch color LCD instrument cluster for the driver.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard on every trim, along with FordPass 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. Bluetooth wireless streaming is a basic infotainment feature allowing you to stream media from multiple smart devices. From the Active trim on up, you have standard access to the SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 360L and the option of upgrading the base audio system to a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker surround sound system with a subwoofer. Another added bonus is being able to add the ability to charge smart devices via a wireless charging pad.
