Let’s dive in with the technology, an area where the Lariat really shines. Like most trims in the 2026 F-150 lineup, the Lariat comes standard with a 12-inch digital productivity screen behind the steering wheel and a matching 12-inch infotainment touchscreen in the center of the dash. CarPlay and Android Auto make it simple to connect your phone, and the Lariat includes a one-year trial of connected navigation.

This means an RV can tow your Lariat on all four wheels without damaging the transmission or transfer case. Note, you must have a 4×4 mode with a two-speed transfer case.
The Lariat comes standard with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, but is also available with a 5.0L V8 engine and a 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid. This diverse array of options lets you choose exactly what you need from your truck. The Lariat is the first trim to come standard with the 3.5L, rather than the smaller 2.7L EcoBoost found in the lower trims.
Your Lariat will also come with a complimentary 90-day trial of BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free driver-assistance system. No lower trims offer this standard; it’s only available as a purchased add-on. So if you want to test this system that can brake, steer, maintain your following distance, and even handle hands-free lane changes without spending a dime, this is the trim to get.
Utility
The Lariat is a luxury trim, but at the end of the day, the F-150 is a pickup truck that appeals to the doers and the movers of the world. So it needs solid utility features, and the Lariat has them.
Bed and Tailgate Design
Let’s start with the available Bed Utility Package, which is designed to maximize storage accessibility and jobsite versatility. It has the popular Pro Access Tailgate, a multifunction tailgate that can either drop down like a traditional tailgate or swing open like a door. If you use the latter function, you’ll get 19 inches closer to your bed’s contents for easier access.
One of the best things about the Pro Access Tailgate is that it still allows you to access your bed’s contents, even when your truck is hitched to a trailer. Its swing-open position lets you open your tailgate without having to detach your trailer.
Built for Pros
The Lariat is available with two levels of Pro Power Onboard: 2.4 kW and 7.2 kW. That second option should be enticing to anyone who needs to plug in tools or appliances that require a lot of power at job sites and recreation destinations. If you regularly visit places that don’t have power outlets, Pro Power Onboard delivers huge value.
The next couple of features we’re going to discuss could easily fall under technology or utility. Ultimately, it’s those wearing work boots and hard hats who like them the most, so we chose utility. We’re talking about Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. The first of these features uses cameras and radar to perfectly align your truck hitch with your trailer.
Pro Trailer Backup Assist lets you steer in reverse with a trailer hitched up. You’ll turn a knob that directs the trailer, while your truck steers itself. When it’s time to back a tractor into a barn or a boat down a ramp, these features are a big help.
Comfort
Now let’s get to the category most associated with the Lariat: comfort and convenience. It certainly shines in these areas.
The Lariat features a remote start system that lets you start the engine before you get in the vehicle. That means that you can turn the climate control on while you’re still finishing breakfast in your kitchen or answering emails in your office. If you live somewhere with severe weather, like here in New York, you’re going to love having remote start.
Also standard on the Lariat are heated and ventilated ActiveX-trimmed seats. These will keep you comfortable when the weather gets really hot or really cold. And those ActiveX-trimmed seats are easy to wipe down (like after you’ve been sweating). They’re long-lasting and provide an elevated look.
