Great Team

The last time you purchased a vehicle, did the salesperson bother to remember your name or ask about your driving needs? Unfortunately, most dealerships operate on commissions and quotas, prioritizing the sale over the customer. That's not how we work.

The DePaula Ford team is exceptional and focuses on building relationships that last a lifetime. We're here to get to know you and your family and discover what you love about the Ford lineup. This commitment to building relationships is an integral part of who we are, which you'll experience firsthand whether you're shopping for a new or used Ford or relying on the expertise of our service department.

Amazing Used Ford Models

The most important part of any dealership is the vehicles it has available, which is why we work hard to maintain an amazing selection of used Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs. Whether you are shopping for an older used car or a recent model, you are sure to find countless high-value options here at DePaula Ford. Here are a few of our favorite used Ford models for Latham drivers:

Ford F-150

Has it really been over 100 years? Ford introduced its first pickup truck, the Model TT, back in 1917. While this truck was rudimentary compared to the modern Ford F-150, it got the job done and started a legacy of trucking that continues today. Also, like all good things, you have to start somewhere.

Ford trucks really hit their stride with the introduction of the F-Series in 1948. Taking the know-how derived from producing trucks and other vehicles for the military during World War II, Ford came out with a pickup that was rugged, dependable, and capable, giving drivers the ability to tow trailers and haul heavy payloads. Over the years, Ford refined the F-series truck, adding things like four-wheel drive, air conditioning, cab styles with rear seats, and more capable engines, always striving to give drivers more for their money.

The biggest breakthrough for Ford trucks may have been the introduction of the F-150 in 1975, looking to provide more performance than the smaller F-100 while giving drivers better fuel economy and meeting more stringent emissions standards than the larger F-250. This was in the midst of the sixth generation of the F-Series trucks, and the F-150 would soon become the flagship model for Ford trucks.

Today, the F-150 represents the most versatile truck in the Ford lineup, with more cab styles, engine options, bed sizes, and trim levels than any other pickup built by Ford. This gives Latham drivers like you the ability to find a used F-150 that suits your purposes. If you're looking to use your F-150 for commercial purposes, you can get a used one with a regular cab and a powerful diesel engine to give you maximum trailering. On the other hand, if you're looking to go off-roading, you can find a used F-150 with four-wheel drive or spring for a used F-150 Raptor with its extra power and specialized features to give you peace of mind when you hit the trails upstate.

Ford also gives you plenty of options for powertrains, including EcoBoost V6 engines and strong V8 engines to give you enhanced acceleration and performance. There are even used F-150 trucks with alternative fuel engines, like hybrids and the new F-150 Lightning electric truck. The key for Ford has been to constantly innovate while keeping the same ruggedness and dependability that goes back to those original Model TT trucks over 100 years ago.

Ford Edge

SUVs have grown in popularity over the last two decades, supplanting minivans as the vehicle of choice for family drivers in Latham and beyond. These folks want the roominess of a minivan but are looking for a vehicle with better handling and performance, like a sedan. They have found that SUVs provide them with the best of both worlds while eliminating the negatives of each vehicle type. Ford recognized this and has created an SUV lineup that is the envy of the automotive world. One of Ford's top models, the midsize Edge, was introduced in 2007 and has been edging out the competition since then.

The two-row Edge gives suburban drivers seating for up to five passengers, making it perfect for families in Latham. What's more, the economical engines that Ford has given the Edge over the years make it a solid choice for a commuter as well. The Ford Edge is currently in its second generation, which was introduced for the 2015 model year.

Older models offered drivers a choice of a gas V6 or turbo-diesel engine, although the diesel option was discontinued after the 2014 model year. In addition, while you may find older models with front-wheel drive, Ford began making all-wheel drive standard on all models of the Edge beginning in 2022. So, if you find a newer used Edge, it will probably be with all-wheel drive, giving you the traction you will need to handle the winter weather we get here in the Albany area.

One other thing that helps the Ford stand out from the crowd is its dedication to passenger safety. The Ford Edge demonstrates this, being named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) eleven times, going back to 2007 when it made its debut. Yes, the 2007 Edge was an IIHS Top Safety Pick as well.

Ford Escape

Compact SUVs have become one of the most popular categories of vehicles in America. These reliable and versatile smaller SUVs provide great fuel economy and surprising roominess, making them great for a commuter, new driver, or older couple looking to downsize. However, if you're a Latham driver who wants to escape from the mundane styling and performance of most compact models, then a used Ford Escape is the best vehicle for you.

Ford introduced the Escape in 2001, providing an SUV that checked all the boxes while creating boxes of its own for advanced styling and creature comforts not found in most other models in its vehicle class. The Escape is currently in its fourth generation since the 2020 model year, keeping the best aspects of earlier models while refining its fuel economy and engine options. This included the use of direct fuel injection and turbocharged EcoBoost engines to get better performance out of smaller engines, beginning with the 2013 model year.

Ford even began offering the Escape with a hybrid powertrain in 2005, which was joined by a convenient plug-in hybrid model in 2009. No matter which used Escape you choose, you will be getting the kind of fuel economy you need as gas prices continue to rise. What's more, the Escape has been a consistent IIHS Top Safety Pick, especially since 2020, when Ford made its Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver assistance features standard on the Escape.

Ford Ranger

Midsize pickups are a great choice for Latham drivers who are new to trucking. They are also an economical choice if you don't need all the power of a bigger truck. Building off its 100 years of experience, Ford first introduced the Ranger in 1983. It proved so successful that Ford didn't have to make any major changes until it decided to premiere a second-generation Ranger in 1993. While keeping the choice of a one-row Regular Cab or a two-row Extended Cab, the second generation of this midsize truck featured a more aerodynamic design and stronger engines.

The dedication to improvement continued, with a third-generation Ranger hitting the road just five years later in 1998, now also offering a roomier Crew Cab. Other than this, the other changes were made below the truck's exterior, with Ford focusing on the Ranger's powertrain and drivetrain. Ford even began offering special edition models like the FX4 and Tremor in 2002 with an eye toward giving drivers the gear they needed for off-roading.

Even though the Ranger was successful, Ford stopped making them after 2010. The design team wanted to give drivers the ultimate performance in a midsize truck and spent the next decade working to take the best elements of the F-150 full-size truck and scale them for a smaller model. The result was the fourth-generation Ranger, which was introduced in time for the 2019 model year. Gone was the Regular Cab. Now, drivers get to choose between a SuperCab and a larger SuperCrew cab style, each with more roominess for up to five passengers. In addition, Ford worked to make the cab on the Ranger less utilitarian and more like one of Ford's luxury SUV models.

Finally, Ford decided to take away all the different powertrain options and equip the Ranger with one standard 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, so you get the same performance no matter which model or trim of the Ford Ranger you choose. The result is a midsize truck with the towing and payload capability to rival some full-size trucks while delivering exceptional fuel economy.

Ford Explorer

Many family drivers are fine with a two-row SUV. These can seat up to five passengers while providing plenty of trunk space and fuel efficiency so your wallet won't suffer too much damage when you need to fill up. But what about if you have a larger family here in Latham? If that's the case, then you are going to need to consider a three-row SUV, like a used Ford Explorer.

Interestingly enough, the Explorer was not originally a three-row midsize SUV. In fact, during the first generation of this model, which launched in 1991, some versions didn't even have three doors. Up until 1994, Ford offered a two-door Explorer that didn't prove as popular as the four-door models. It was gone by the time the second-generation Explorer appeared in 1995. Still, it would take until the third generation Explorer in 2002 for Ford to begin offering Latham drivers like you a third row on this SUV. So, if you're looking for a used three-row Explorer, then you'll have to look for one built after 2002.

The Explorer is currently in its sixth generation, offering a great choice of turbocharged EcoBoost engines, including a fuel-efficient I-4, a sporty V6, and even a hybrid that delivers an incredible city driving fuel economy numbers for a vehicle of this size. In addition, there are plenty of different trim levels, so you can decide on which features you desire most on your used Ford Explorer. The sixth-generation Explorer was introduced in 2020, and since that time, it has staked its place as one of the safest three-row midsize SUVs, consistently being named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS, the highest rating from this independent agency. If you are looking for a perfect SUV for a bigger family, then a used Ford Explorer is the right model for you.
