The engine lineup starts with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline 4-cylinder that manages up to 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, which is more horsepower and more torque than the 3.6L Pentastar V6 and the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder on the Wrangler. The turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for the Bronco provides even more horsepower and torque, topping out at 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.
Additionally, while the Wrangler offers a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, the Ford Bronco offers more gears in its drivetrain. The 2.3L 4-cylinder in the Bronco is available with either a seven-speed manual transmission or you can get a ten-speed automatic transmission. The 2.7L V6 comes standard with the ten-speed automatic transmission. The importance of more gears means there are more shifts available depending on the speed, crawl rate, elevation, or towing capacity of the vehicle. This also means that on smoother surfaces, you can experience smoother shifting because there are more gears to provide better power distribution from the engine revolutions.
