As the Ranger enters a brand-new generation for 2024, it's expected that this popular truck will have something more to offer drivers, and it doesn't disappoint with new, exciting powertrains added to its lineup. It comes standard with a 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder, which makes 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque; however, if you want a more dramatic experience behind the wheel, opting for the new 2.7L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 will invigorate your travels. Charging forward with 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, this new powertrain is ideal for those who wish to get more out of their experience.
There's also a 3.0L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 in the mix, which makes 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque to really amp up your travels, whether you're sailing down the highway or bounding down the trails. All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which makes for a smooth and agile ride, regardless of where you're heading.
The 2024 Chevy Colorado comes standard with a 2.7L turbocharged four-cylinder, which makes 237 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, while an available 2.7L TurboMax version is available to elevate the experience. This engine makes 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, which energizes the drive a bit—but not as much as the Ranger. These engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which offers a confident and refined ride. Even though the Colorado doesn't have as many powertrains to choose from and power is lacking, it's highly efficient, getting an EPA-estimated 24 MPG on the highway. The Ranger gets better gas mileage though, getting an EPA-estimated 25 MPG on the highway with its standard four-cylinder.

Unfortunately, the Colorado comes up short in this category, with its 2.7L engine offering up to 1,684 lbs of payload capacity. Both the Ranger and Colorado can be armed with fierce off-road capabilities, but nothing beats a Raptor.
