The Ford Fiesta’s accompanying engines might be small, but that doesn’t mean they should be under-appreciated. After all, the offerings still manage to deliver the anticipated fuel efficiency specs without compromising power.
For instance, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine might not be all that intimidating, but drivers will still be able to zoom past all of their fellow drivers thanks to the adequate 123 horsepower and 125 pounds-feet of torque. However, this system truly makes a name for itself via its efficiency, as drivers can anticipate 35 miles per gallon while traveling on the highway. Alternatively, drivers can opt for the standard 1.6-liter I-4 engine, which manages to deliver 120 horsepower and 112 pounds-feet of torque. Of course, the system is also fuel efficient, as drivers can expect 35 miles per gallon on the highway. If customers want optimal power, they can go for the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, which delivers an impressive 197 horsepower and 202 pounds-feet of torque. Despite all of this power, the system still promises a respectable 33-mile-per-gallon highway fuel efficiency.
Of course, engineers also included a number of mechanical features that will improve the entire driving experience. The PowerShift Six-Speed Automatic Transmission (with SelectShift capabilities) leads to a smooth ride, while the Electric Power-Assisted Steering will help keep the driver on their desired path. There’s even Torque Vectoring Control, which uses that power to help maximize traction and control.
