Four of Our Favorite Luxury Fords for 2021

As we kick off this New Year, there’s no better time than now to look at the 2021 models that we’ll be enjoying over the next 12 months. Today, we thought it would be fun to look specifically at the more luxurious options you’ll find at your NY Ford dealer. Ford vehicles are well known for offering some of the most impressive luxury features and options on the road, so it’s no surprise that we can easily put together a long list of models with incredible luxury.
Rather than throw ten different vehicles and trims at you, we thought it would be more helpful to focus on just a few of our favorites. So here’s a quick overview of four of our picks when looking for a Ford vehicle with impressive luxury. Some of these have a few good trim options for great luxury features, so we’ll look at each one to give you a great sense of what’s out there.
The 2021 Ford Explorer
First up, let’s consider the Ford Explorer, which is a midsize SUV that you’ll find at your NY Ford dealer and a very popular one at that. There are quite a few trim levels for you to choose from with the Explorer, but if your focus is on luxury, then they’re not all going to be equal. While many of them will give you a great ride, the Limited and the Platinum trims – particularly the Platinum – are where your focus should be.
- Limited – The Limited trim has the same engine as the standard Explorer, a 2.3L EcoBoost, with rear-wheel drive standard. The interior is quite nice; however, thanks to second-row captain’s chairs for added comfort, and leather seating surfaces with micro-perforation and accent stitching. The Limited also features second-row heated seats, with a third-row bench seat. You get a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system in the Limited, along with tri-zone automatic temperature control, an integrated key fob, push-button start, and a wireless charging pad.
- Platinum – As luxurious as the Limited trim is, the Platinum trim still manages to surpass it, starting with a more powerful 3.0L EcoBoost engine with Intelligent 4WD. You get the same 12-speaker B&O sound system in the Platinum, with tri-diamond perforated leather seating surfaces with accent stitching. The Platinum also comes with PowerFold third-row seating standard, which is an available option on the Limited, along with impressive safety features like Active Park Assist. Inside the Platinum, you also get black carpet floor mats with Brunello stitching for the front and second rows, along with a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters and an available twin-panel moonroof.
As you can see, there’s some serious luxury features to be found in the Ford Explorer.

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Although a lot of attention is being paid to the fact that the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the first truly new Mustang in decades, but this shouldn’t overshadow its impressive luxury features. Of course, the Mach-E is noteworthy for the fact that it’s an all-electric SUV with incredible performance and a great range, not to mention just how fun it is to drive. However, its luxury options are everything you’d expect from such an impressive piece of machinery, especially if you go for the Premium trim level.
Don’t get us wrong, the standard Select trim is great, and the performance-focused GT trim offers an exceptional driving experience. But if luxury is more important to you than the raw force of your vehicle’s acceleration, then the Premium trim is the way to go. It offers exquisite comfort and impressive technology while keeping the price lower than the high-performance GT model.
It’s not that the Premium doesn’t offer great performance: it’s available with either rear-wheel drive or eAWD, offering up to 346 hp and up to 428 lb-ft of torque from its power system. The Premium trim comes with a hands-free foot-activated power liftgate standard, along with heated front row seats, a heated steering wheel, and a memory driver’s seat with side view power folding mirrors. The Premium trim features a 15-inch Infotainment display with a nine-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system that includes a dedicated subwoofer for incredible audio quality.
You also get a wireless charging pad, a 10-inch digital driver cluster, and multi-color ambient lighting inside the Premium Mustang Mach-E. Altogether it makes for a driving experience that is thrilling and luxurious.
The 2021 Ford Expedition
Next, we have the 2021 Expedition, a full-size SUV that you’ll find at your local Ford dealer. The Expedition is similar to the Explorer in that it’s a standard model, not an electric vehicle like the Mustang Mach-E. One thing to note about the Expedition, however, is that even though it’s a full-size model, there’s actually a larger version of it available, indicated by the word “MAX.” So the Expedition Platinum and Expedition Platinum MAX are more-or-less the same, except the MAX model is longer.
There are numerous trims available for the Expedition, though you’ll want to focus on the King Ranch and the Platinum trim for optimal luxury.
- King Ranch – Inside the King Ranch, you’ll find perforated, leather-trimmed front seats that are heated and ventilated. The King Ranch also features second-row power-folding captain’s chairs for optimal comfort, along with power-fold and power-recline third-row seating. Up at the front, you get a 10-way power driver seat and an 8-way power front-passenger seat, with power lumbar and power reclining.
- Platinum – With the Platinum trim, you get a lot of the same luxury features, plus a few extra touches. For example, the Platinum has multi-contour seats with active motion for added comfort, along with its 8-inch Infotainment display and dual 4-inch cluster displays. The Platinum also features carpeted flooring with carpeted first and second-row floor mats, plus enhanced active noise control.
For a large SUV with incredible features, the Expedition is hard to beat.

The 2021 Ford F-150
Finally, we come to the F-150, the most popular truck in the US. The F-150 is a full-size truck that is a fantastic choice if you want a truly excellent work truck that you can still enjoy on the weekend. For 2021, the F-150 has some of the most impressive luxury options we’ve ever seen in a Ford truck, and you should consider the Platinum or Limited trim for the best features.
- Platinum – While luxury might not be the first thing you think of with a full-size pickup, the Platinum certainly delivers. It features dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, intelligent adaptive cruise control, and available Active Park Assist. The Platinum also has a 12-inch productivity display for the driver, plus power-adjustable pedals with memory, a heated steering wheel, and a wireless charging pad. You also get ambient lighting, fade-to-off interior lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
- Limited – With the Limited trim, you get a lot of the same great luxury features as the Platinum, but with a few extra items. For example, the Limited features a 360-degree camera package standard, along with Active Park Assist and other options that are available on the Platinum. You get the B&O sound system, with HD radio, along with heated front and rear seats and a tailgate step with a work surface, all standard.
