The Ford Bronco Is the Hot SUV for 2023

Ever since the Ford Bronco reemerged in 2021, the vehicle has generated excitement in the automotive world. From consumers to critics, anyone and everyone have been quick to praise the return of one of the most iconic SUVs ever to be produced. In an age where the SUV is unquestionably the most popular choice for family-oriented consumers and off-road aficionados alike, it was only a matter of time before the Bronco returned from retirement to retake its place at the very top of the hill. The 2023 Ford Bronco is here and ready to go head-to-head with the competition. Here at DePaula Ford, your friendly and accessible NY Ford Bronco dealership, we’re proud to carry this offering that’s bound to turn heads and capture hearts in the year ahead. Join us now as we explore the virtues and attributes of the 2023 Ford Bronco.
An Accessible Starting Point to Off-Roading
The marketplace in which the SUV exists is easily one of the most competitive in the entire industry, especially the off-roading faction. This isn’t by chance or accident; as the immense popularity continues to grow, manufacturers are doing their best to outdo one another in terms of capability and cost. The Ford Bronco has had tough competition, and in a move that shows the drive and ambition that Ford has regarding their vehicle, its off-roading legend starts at an accessible price point. Off-roading vehicles are specialized and can often be expensive because of that, but Ford endeavors to keep the Bronco ready for the trail, even at the affordable base level.
A Look Like any Other
Cars are more than just a means to get from point A to point B. For many of us, they serve as a second base of operations that is mobile and are often part of the first impressions we give off to someone. The vehicles we drive are an extension of our personality and provide a means for personal expression. When it comes to style, the Bronco is the ideal compromise between the look it had in previous decades with a modern twist that elevates it above other industry rivals. The classic look of the Bronco badge and the two-toned color scheme will tickle the fancy of nostalgia buffs, while its curvier silhouette will certainly appeal to those who have a more modern sensibility when it comes to what they drive. Either way, you’re guaranteed a vehicle that doesn’t look like anything else on the road.

Under the Hood and Beyond Expectation
Affordability and style are one thing, but the area of performance is what many SUV owners and Bronco aficionados are concerned with. Not to worry, Ford doesn’t let you down in this area. The 2023 Ford Bronco has two distinctive powertrains available, both of which offer conservative fuel consumption and versatility for the discerning driver.
The base offering is anything but basic and takes the form of a turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder engine. With 300 horsepower, this is an offering that reinforces the concept of big things coming in small packages. Similar to what they’ve done with the F-150, both Bronco engines come equipped with a highly-functional ten-speed automatic transmission. The advantage of opting for the smaller of the two is the opportunity to choose a seven-speed manual transmission, and, as we’ve seen in recent years, having a manual transmission in any SUV is harder and harder to come by.
As is to be expected from a vehicle such as the Bronco, there is an engine upgrade, and one we’re very excited to discuss. Similar to the Bronco’s of yesteryear, the other powertrain option takes the form of a V6. This twin-turbocharged motor measures out to 2.7L and propels the Bronco with relative ease, thanks to 330 horsepower. Both engines are capable of towing 3,500 lbs, which matches up against one of its biggest competitors, the Jeep Wrangler.
What’s truly remarkable about both powertrains is that their fuel consumption is almost completely identical across the board. Both the four-cylinder and V6 get an estimated 20 MPG combined and 21 MPG on the highway. The key difference between the two is what they offer when driving within the city limits. The V6 gets 19 MPG in the city, and the four-cylinder offers 20 MPG in the city. It’s seldom that specs such as these are as close as this, and we can’t help but be impressed.
A Truly Versatile Interior
In the years that the Bronco was absent, the Jeep Wrangler cornered the marketplace on being a customizable off-roader, thanks to its two and four-door setups and its removable body panels and tops. The Bronco, undaunted by the aspect of facing competition, matches this capability. And, much to our delight, it actually improves upon the experience with its unique interior. Anchored by an eight-inch infotainment screen (drivers can upgrade to a twelve-inch if they so choose to), the Bronco spaces out its controls and features to allow for comfort when conquering the outside world.
One aspect regarding the interior that we got really excited about was an area on the dashboard where a smartphone or portable camera system could be set up to record your adventures as they happen. In the age of social media, this means streaming options are easier than ever. It’s a simple concept but one that illustrates that some of the best innovations from Ford aren’t always related to engineering.
Streaming capabilities aside, the interior of the Bronco can be outfitted to adhere to any level of comfort you choose. Whether you’re fine with the basics or want an upgrade, the choice is yours. Some of the more enticing available implements include a high-end B&O stereo system and navigation. Ford’s SYNC 4 software is standard, as is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a wi-fi hotspot. Depending upon how much peace you want, there are a plethora of available driving-assistance features that can be added to enhance oversight when on the road. Multiple driving modes made for outdoor activities mean that rocks, sand, and pavement won’t matter because all are easily tamed.
