Conversely, you can get Jeep’s variation of terrain modes on higher trims, but it’s not standard on low-level trims. These customized settings are, unfortunately, ones that you’ll definitely have to pay extra for if you choose to go with Jeep.

This statement stands true for driver assist modes. In fact, several Jeep Wrangler trims do not come with any standard driver assist features aside from a rearview backup camera. The Bronco, however, includes Ford’s standard Co-Pilot360 suite. That means it offers standard Lane-Keeping Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Pre-Collision Assist.

Lane-Keeping Assist ensures that drivers stay in the correct lane, automatically centering the Bronco in the correct lane unless the turn signal is used to indicate lane switching. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is available to let drivers know when a vehicle is approaching them via a parking lot aisle. Often, it’s difficult to see vehicles when you’re backing out of a parking space, so this is especially helpful in these situations. Automatic Emergency Braking and Pre-Collision Assist are both self-explanatory, but these four features combined make the Base Bronco a much better deal than the base-level Jeep Wrangler.

It’s also important to note that a Base Bronco is actually a bit cheaper than a Sport (base-level) Wrangler. So, not only does the Bronco Base come with more standard features, but it also offers them at a more affordable MSRP.

Package Options

Both the Bronco and the Wrangler definitely do have several available package options, though the Bronco’s specialized packages make it stand out. There are five different available package options, and this is on top of the Bronco’s seven trim options. So, don’t get those confused!

The Standard Package comes as standard (no surprise) on 4 out of 7 Bronco models. They don’t go in the exact order of trim, however. The Standard Package is present on the Base, the Big Bend, The Black Diamond, and the Badlands trims. Generally speaking, this package includes a push-button start, LED headlamps, and black door handles.

When you move up to the Mid Package, you really start to see some differences. You’ll get cool features such as remote start, a Reverse Sensing System, and a SYNC 4 Infotainment screen with top-tier voice recognition. The Mid Package is standard on the Outer Banks and Wildtrak models. The High Package includes all of this, plus a Forward Sensing System, soundproofing materials, and much more. This package is only available as an add-on.

The Bronco’s Lux Package comes with a killer sound system that includes 10 speakers and a subwoofer for bass, plus a heated steering wheel and even a wireless charging pad for mobile devices. It’s available as an add-on for the top four trim levels, and it’s standard on the First Edition model.

The Sasquatch package is available on all trims and standard on only the Wildtrak and First Edition trims. It’s designed for serious off-roaders. This package includes high-profile configurations, mud tires, and locking front and rear axles. While you can get a lot of these specs on the Wrangler, there are far more package options for the Bronco, which allows more room for customization and affordability. You can choose what you need and do without everything that you’d consider “extra.”

Can You FORD Through Water Like You Can With a Jeep?

Absolutely no pun intended here, of course, but we all know that Jeep Wranglers are known for their impressive water fording abilities. So, how about the Bronco? Where does it rank in this competition? The excellent news here is that it can actually do better, depending on your Bronco’s configuration. When you add on the Sasquatch Package, you gain additional height. This means that you can push through up to 33.5 inches of water as opposed to the Wrangler’s max of 30 inches. While the Bronco and the Wrangler are neck and neck when it comes to many off-roading specs, this is one category that Ford dominates in.

Both models are great for off-roading, and both have a long history of impressive performance.
